Mieczysław Weinberg
ABOUT
Mieczyslaw Weinberg was a very gifted and prolific composer who wrote, among many other things, some wonderful pieces of Jewish music. The 1st movement of his Sinfonietta # 1 always lifts my spirits. This year (2021) the 25th anniversary of Weinberg’s death coincides with the Jewish holiday Purim, and I think that this music truly reflects the spirit of this holiday: we are alive, we shall always live and shall never allow anyone to exterminate us!
